Issued in 1875 this stamp features an image of the sculpture of Proteus Caliba I by Henry Merowech in 1691 for the erection of the Caliban University. The sculpture it’s self is on public display at the Caliban University in Caliban on the south coast of the Isle of Oberon. Proteus Caliba (356 AD - 419 AD) was famously the leader of the first Roman legion to set foot on Oberon. He is considered by most to be the founder of the country. Little is known about the native Oberonions, other than that they were peaceful and were massacred by the Legionaries at the orders of Caliba.
